Pharmacovigilance is an action of vigilance against Pharma adverse events and activities in detail are related to adverse event detection, assessment, understanding and prevention. It is aimed in making best use of medicines to the mankind for the best treatment or prevention of dangerous diseases. Though its objective is not indented to harm the subjects during medicine use process, unfortunately some medicines often tend to cause problems. Slightest harm to even a few patients destroys the credibility of the medicine.

Effective Pharmacovigilance system will identify the risks and detect the risk factors in the shortest possible time so that the harm can be prevented or minimized. The implementation of Pharmacovigilance may be critical to the success of public health programs involving medicines that helps in reducing risks.
